March Madness!

I have never been a big basketball fan, but I figure I have a son now, so I need to bone up on all sports. Not to mention filling out and tracking my bracket has brought out a fun competitive side in me (I'm currently second place in my office pool!). Spencer really seems to enjoy watching basketball at home with daddy so we thought we'd try out a Stampede game. Thanks to The Idaho Foodbank and AgriBeef we were lucky enough to score some suite tickets.

It was a little loud in the arena and he was much happier hanging out in the suite...just like his mamma!

Back on the home front, we have been busy loading up the ipad with all sorts of apps for Spencer to play with. It's almost kinda sad...there are even apps that will read to your kids for you. Spence is a big fan of the "L" Lightbulb in the alphabet app and trying to blow bubbles in the koi pond.
We go pants free at home a lot these days. For some reason lately he just fights me to put the pants on, so I pick my battles.

3.13.11

We had a nice visit from Nana and Poppy this weekend. They hadn't seen the little nugget since New Years (skyping just doesn't count) so he had lots of fun showing off all of his new tricks, including impressing them with his ipad skills. It just kills me that BABIES know how to use ipads. Crazy. ANYWAY, as is tradition when the Stonehocker's are here, we went to The Cheesecake Factory, where Spencer discovered his new favorite thing in the world: brown bread.

Happy grandparents.

Another trip to the park for swings...Rocco Man met us too!

Trip to the Park

We are not really a cold weather family. We don't really enjoy any snow related activities because we hate being cold. Even Fergie doesn't like to go outside when the weather is bad. So, we've been cooped up for a while, and our trip to Vegas gave us a taste of that sunshine we love so much. Sunday I couldn't take it anymore and we bundled up for a trip to the park. I can't say it was Spencer's first trip, because we went this summer and fall, but of course, he was really too little to get in to it. This time was a different story and he had so much fun! This picture cracks me up to no end...his first time on a slide and he's holding on to his hat. I mean seriously, how hilarious and cute is that?
Spencer had a great time on the swings. I love that we are within walking distance to this great park...I see many, many visits in our future.

Growing up so fast!

It never ceases to amaze me, each and every day, how fast Spencer is growing up. The other day Chris wanted to let him ride on his shoulders, to which I shrieked: NO! He's too little. Luckily when I have my moments like this, Chris doesn't really listen and goes ahead and does it anyway. Because obviously, he is not too little for such fun!
In fact, he loved it. How dare mommy try and deny him this fun!

Vegas, Baby!

We had a GREAT time in Vegas and Lake Mead last weekend. It was our first real vacation with the baby, and to say I was stressed and worried about it is an understatement. As usual though, I had nothing to worry about. Spencer did great on the plane (take offs activate some sort of "sleep mode" in him) and had a great time in the sunshine! Of the hundreds of times I have been to Vegas (well, maybe not 100, but I've been there a lot) I have never stopped at the sign, so we made that our first family activity.

Our days were mostly spent on the boat. I'd never been to Lake Mead and all I can say is, WOW. No wonder dad ventures down there for half the winter! Spencer had a great time by Grampa's side.

What was really nice about having dad and Laurie down there was that Chris and I could go play at night! I didn't bring my camera, which is just as well since the new saying down there is: What happens in Vegas, winds up on YouTube. We did have an AMAZING dinner at Tom Colicchio's restaurant Craft If you don't know who that is, then you obviously aren't a Top Chef fan. That's okay, we still love you!

All good things must come to an end though, and after four days it was time to come home. Here is Spencer looking longing out the window, like, really? We're gonna leave this nice weather?!

Monday already?

The weekends just go by too fast with a little one at home! I mean, I thought they were fast before, but when Saturday and Sunday are my only whole days with my little man, I wish they could last forever! We are very lucky to have my sister a mile or two away, which means we have playdates with cousin Rocco 9 weekends out of ten. Here we are watching Madagascar or God knows what for the billionth time. Don't I look thrilled?
I swear we play with our kids, but here is another shot of them watching some other movie. These two are OBSESSED with Grampa's iPad...I think Rocco knows how to use it better than any of us.

On Sunday Chris & Spencer had their crawling training session. This kid is SO ready to crawl, pictured here:
But he's just not in to it. And that's fine by me. He's growing up fast enough as it is!
