Thank Goodness Camping Season is Here

A little rain in the forecast didn't stop us from heading up to our favorite New Meadows campsite for Memorial Day weekend. It had been eight long months since the last camp trip and it was time to get to the mountains! Spencer loved it just as much (if not more than) as last fall. He is such an observant little guy...always taking in the sights, sounds and smells around him.
The absolute highlight of the weekend was the 4 wheelers. Now, I love a good 4 wheel ride, but when it came to letting my 2 year old on one, I was not overly excited. But going at a ridiculously slow speed and on smooth trails I finally consented. Both Spencer and Rocco were in heaven. I actually didn't get a pic of Spencer, but here is Rocco with his dad and I think the look on his face says it all.
This is Spencer pointing at said 4 wheeler and demanding to go for another "ride."
We did lots and lots of walking over the three days and I just love this picture of Spencer and Fergie...off on an adventure!

What more can I say...

Spring has sprung...

It was a lovely day in Boise today, so we hit the park first thing this morning. This has become one of Spencer's favorite places and I am amazed to see how more adventurous he becomes after each visit. It used to be he wouldn't even go on the play equipment without being glued to my side, but now he is all over the place, running around like the crazy kid he is. This is a good thing, and it warms my heart to watch him grow up into a little (okay, very little) man. I took the camera with us, as I haven't been as great at picture taking as I was the first year of his life, and I truly don't want to miss or forget anything.
Ready...
Set...
Go!!!!!!!!!
And yes, we still have Fergie Ferg and she was just as happy to go to the park as Spencer was.

Birthday Bike

We waited until Spencer's actual birthday (a few days after the party) to give him our gift...a balance bike! He is a cautious little guy, so we weren't sure how it would go over, but we chose a model with a big back tire for even more balance. I was very proud of him for getting right on it (with a little help from daddy, of course)!
And in typical kid fashion, it didn't matter that we had a house full of new toys...the main attraction was the box!
